3 and 6 ball drills

Taylor Fritz's Favorite Drill That Can Help You Develop a Weapon

Key Points

  • 3 inside out forehands, 1 wide forehand, followed by a short “kill shot” inside out forehand and then 1 short inside in forehand
  • Once you step around the inside out or inside in forehand, make sure you step back in and hit through it
  • You should try and hit an angle on the inside out forehand, pulling your opponent off the court
  • First ball - Feed high with topspin pushing the player back behind the baseline
  • Second ball - Feed the ball between the knees and the waist and have the player step in and drive it
  • Third ball - Feed this lower and have the player hit a slice
  • Move back for the high spin shot, set up and then drive your weight back into the shot
  • Use the slice when the ball is lower and you’re off balance to neutralize the point
