Nick Kyrgios Forehand Drills | Build Spin, Power & Versatility
Forehand drills used by Nick Kyrgios to develop racket head speed, spin, and directional control. Build a forehand that attacks from anywhere on the court.
Key Points
- Developing rip and topspin on your forehand improves consistency and can expose players weaknesses, while creating angles and pushing your opponent back in the court
- Keep moving so you’re not standing and waiting
- Recover in line with cone, not around it
- Hit off different stances
- Use deep targets at 3 quarter court on both sides
- Hit 1 off-forehand and recover, 1 inside-in forehand and recover, and then a shorter, flat forehand
- 5 Ball drill:
- 1 forehand crosscourt
- 1 forehand down the line
- 1 forehand inside-in and inside-out
- 1 attacking short forehand
- Work on developing a forehand you can attack in all directions from all areas of the court, hitting flat and with spin
- Progress drills from feeding to point play
- Mix up feeds to different forehands to start the point
- Keep the drills and points continuous, so it’s high intensity
