Aref Jellali

Aref Jellali is one of the world's leading junior development coaches, renowned for building complete players through innovative training methods, world-class movement patterns and long-term player development. Originally from Tunisia, Aref developed his coaching philosophy under legendary coach Bob Brett, one of the most influential coaches in tennis history. Bob coached Grand Slam champions and world-class players including Marin Čilić, Goran Ivanišević, Mario Ančić and Boris Becker, while also consulting with many of the world's leading tennis federations. The principles Aref learned from Bob remain at the heart of his coaching today. Aref later became one of the Head Coaches for Tennis Canada, where he coached future US Open champion Bianca Andreescu from the age of 9 to 13 and also worked with one of the brightest young stars in world tennis, Victoria Mboko, during her development. He now coaches at the Ons Jabeur Academy, continuing to develop some of the world's most promising young players. What makes Aref's coaching unique is his belief that great coaching comes from designing the right drill—not giving longer explanations. Rather than relying on constant technical instruction, he creates training environments that naturally teach players the correct movement, timing, footwork and decision-making. His philosophy is simple: the drill should teach the player. His methodology places movement before strokes, teaching players to read the ball, create space, position themselves correctly and produce a heavier, higher-quality ball. Throughout his lessons he demonstrates how great technique is developed through purposeful drills, game-based learning and progressive training rather than repetitive instruction. Inside CoachLife you'll find 38 in-depth lessons covering the forehand, backhand, serve, footwork, volleys, slice, transition to the net, tactics, player development and coaching philosophy. You'll also discover many of Aref's most innovative training concepts, including drills to increase serve speed through neurotransfer, improve volleys using a paddle, develop earlier ball timing, create heavier groundstrokes, build better movement patterns and develop complete all-court players. Whether you're a player, coach or parent, Aref's coaching provides a complete blueprint for long-term tennis development, combining technical excellence, movement, tactics, mindset and innovative drills that have helped produce some of the world's best young players.
