• Make a decision where your opponent is going to hit the ball before they serve
• Split step right before your opponent hits the serve and look to hit the ground as they hit it and then push off in either direction
• Most players in the modern game are standing further back to return serve
• Keep the same backswing when returning without turning side on
• A wide base on the return allows you to keep balance and stability and change direction easier
