Between Point Routine - Committed-Action, Answer, Reset (CAR)

Adopt a Point-by-Point Commitment to Actions Like Smart Aggression or Creative Play, Assess Achievement With Self-Queries on Goal Pursuit, and Employ Reset Techniques—Grounding, Feeling Labeling, or Motivational Phrases—to Enhance Focus and Performance

Key Points

  • Commit to an action every point. Some examples are: Smart aggression, clear targets, watching the ball, playing freely, creatively and with courage
  • Ask yourself the question: "Did I pursue the goal?"
  • Answer "Yes, good job" if you focused well on your goal or "Next point!" if you did not and then commence your reset actions
  • Reset action examples can be feeling the ground with your feet, labelling your feelings Red/ Yellow/Green, feel your breathing, touch your strings, look out at the trees or nature, say to yourself key re-focus phrases: "Right here, right now", "You can do it, "walk off a better player," and so on
