2 Up 2 Back Drill
Start With 2 Players at the Net and 2 at the Baseline. Focus on Hitting the Third Shot Drop, Advancing to the Net, and Keeping Your Opponents Pinned to the Baseline.
Key Points
- Start with 2 at the net and 2 at the baseline
- 2 players at the net feed the ball and they have to get to 11 before the players starting at the baseline get to 7
- The goal for the 2 players at the baseline is to hit the third shot drop and progress to the net where most of the points are won
- Alternate the feed so both players get a chance to work on the 3rd shot drop
- The 2 players at the net should reach, take the ball out of the air and prevent their opponents from coming to the net, while pinning them to the baseline
- The drill can be played 1 v 1 or 2 v 2, in half the court or the full court
- Mix it up and also work on the 3rd shot drive
- You and your partner should be constantly communicating and work on moving forward and back as a “unit”
