How to Lose Weight and the "MyPlate Method"
Key Points
- To lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit: eat less than what you burn
- 0.8g protein per pound of bodyweight (aim for whole food sources)
- Calorie Deficit: multiply bodyweight in lbs x 12
- Use a food tracking app like MyFitnessPal
- Don’t forget about counting the oils/fats, they add up quickly
- Don’t want to track, use the MyPlate Method: 1/2 plate non-starchy vegetables, 1/4 protein, 1/4 carbohydrates
- Drinks 10 kcal per serving, sugar-free
- Alcohol, choose “skinny” drinks with no sugar/juice, light beer or wine
